About Lauren Royer

Hi, I go by Lauren Royer (Roy-ay)

She/her/ella

Welcome to my portfolio and virtual studio. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I have found both solace and inspiration from the surrounding gray and green landscapes. Art in all forms interests me.

This is thanks to my Grandma, who exposed me to many great female artists early in my life, from books on Frida Kahlo to walking the halls of modern art museums.

Today, I am a creatively diverse artist, with ranges of experiences and an education instilled by the University of Washington.

I am ready to share visions.

Photography is the focal point of my creative practice. I am trusted with numerous photoshoots, spanning back 14 years to my photographer origins. I capture a range of diverse subject matter. From fine-art portraiture of musicians and dancers, of events, fashion designs, special occasions, and of far-off travels. The human and environmental condition are occasionally reflected in my Nikon + iPhone-shaped hand mirror.

Paintings are a shift into a different medium from photography, which allows me to express my emotions more. People and places fuel my photography while music and emotion fuels my paintings.

My paintings were displayed at a venue in Olympia, WA from 2019-2022 (Glitter & Suede). Then once again at a venue in Portland, OR for the winter artist showcase in 2023 (EarthSpace PDX). To close out the showcase, I was welcomed back to Earthspace PDX to read selections of my poetry. My poems are occasionally sprinkled in with visual posts on Instagram and soon-to-be on this website.

The abstract expressionism of my paintings makes them owner favorites in households across the US and beyond.

It is with gratitude in 2020, I accepted and completed 3 unique commissioned painted works, all with different purposes and forms. A 7.5 foot long Portland skyline, a window sign, and album artwork for a synthwave artist.

And the beat goes on…

There are endless sources of inspiration in this beautiful world. I am most inspired by genuine people, nature, and music.

While I am generally recognized for my photography and abstract paintings, I am open to exploring new projects and collaborations.

  • Projects & collaborations I will prioritize at this time include: artist/musician album artwork design, artist portraiture, fashion design photography, street photography, travel/street photography.

If you seek something beyond what you see, let's talk!

Check back for new projects- I add paintings and images routinely.
